frequently asked questions

How does TREK and TREK for Kids differ compared to traditional insect repellents?
TREK and TREK for Kids are 100% natural and utilize essential oils as active ingredients, rather than potentially harmful pesticides such as DEET.
How does TREK and TREK for Kids differ compared to other “natural” repellents?
Other natural insect repellents often use essential oils as active ingredients, just like TREK and TREK for Kids. Since essential oils should never make up more than 3% of the total formula, the question is, what makes up the remaining 97%? Too often, other natural products rely on seed oils, such as soybean, corn, or walnut oil, as a cheap filler simply used to “carry” the active ingredients. This is an inexpensive and efficient manufacturing method; however, the user experience often falls far short of being amazing. Seed oils do NOT repel insects and only leave you feeling greasy and oily. Furthermore, they can clog your pores, cause sunburn, and spread poison ivy.
What is the difference between TREK and TREK for Kids?
TREK for Kids contains a lower concentration of essential oils, formulated specially for sensitive skin. TREK for Kids is recommended for children aged 2-5 years old.
What are the ingredients in TREK and TREK for Kids
Sometimes, less is more. Our carefully formulated solution is everything your skin needs and nothing it doesn’t. We often say it’s the one “store-bought” formula that most resembles the homeopathic remedies many of our customers (used to) make at home, described by them as “extremely convenient” since mixing essential oil tinctures on your own can be a hassle.
